I've started a business after being employed for a long time decided to go on my own. I tried Rated People.com to get out there. I uploaded pictures and had a portfolio ready for customers to view. Every job I go to the customers pick my brains and tell me they'll be in touch. I show my hand and quote and they then use that to find a cheaper tradesmen. I loose money buying the lead and give the customer my professional advice and they use that as a platform on others. I'm sick of being used and plan to set up a site where customers pay to get the best trades and leave the cheap cowboys on rated people. I'm out of rated people its a using con

Well done with this site. I also had issues with a contractor from RatedPeople and had to resort to small claims court before Rated People would accept my adverse feedback.
They ultimately dropped the contractor concerned, but I then discovered he had re-registered with them under a different name.
A simple background / company check like I performed would have found this ploy - but RatedPeople did not check, so I told them and they dropped him again.
